A series of 5 lectures to be held at the Letherhead Institute Leatherhead on Monday evenings 20 April - 1 June 2009 (excl. bank holidays).
Did you know that there were more than 20 royal residences in the counties of Surrey and Middlesex? This lecture series will cover five of the most important and interesting sites:
Guildford Castle is the earliest. In the Middle Ages it was one of the very few castles referred to as a palace.
This year we celebrate the 500th anniversary of Henry VIII's accession. The other palaces to be covered : Hampton Court, Nonsuch (pictured right), Oatlands and Woking were four of his favourite residences, all in the Honor of Hampton Court.
Tickets : £6 for each lecture or £26 for the series of five, may be ordered in advance using the attached booking form.
Each lecture begins at 7:30pm for 8:00pm on Monday evenings in the Abraham Dixon Hall in the Letherhead Institute. Tea and coffee will be available before each lecture.
